We had a GREAT Christmas!
Christmas Eve we always go to my parents. We went there for egg bake (yum :)), opened presents, played with our new toys & headed off to church as a family (all 13 of us). From church we all headed out to the cemetery to wish Becky a Merry Christmas & then we all went home & did our own "family Christmas'". The kids opened their gifts from mom & dad, put out a cookie & some chocolate milk for santa & then it was off bed.
Christmas Day we woke up to their stockings & gifts from santa & played with their toys until their other cousin's came to play. Christmas Day we spend the day with Grandma Nancy's side during the day, with super yummy food & then the evening with just the immediate Evans. Santa made a visit after we got done with lunch & brought gifts for all of the little cousin's. Brayden LOVED Santa, Macie not so much! Pictures below.....

Brayden had his 1st dentist appt. on Monday. He wasn't too sure about it, but did fine. We had Macie go 1st & she did great. She has her top 2 molars coming in & then she will have all of her teeth. Brayden has none of his molars, but I kind of assumed that since he is not 2 yet.

As soon as the snow melted last time Macie told dad "oh man we forgot to get the snowmobile out". So as soon as it snowed this time she was all over dad. Sleigh Ride & Mr. & Mrs. Clause

Last Saturday in Nicollet they did the 1st ever "Hometown Holiday" they had sleigh rides, face painting, cooking frosting, holiday project, story time with Mr. & Mrs. Clause & off course your chance to sit on Santa's lap & tell him what you wanted for Christmas. Our family and Taylor went out they for a while & we really enjoyed it. The sleigh ride got a little chilly (it was 25 minutes), but it was snowing & so beautiful!

Disney Live

On Sunday, November we took the kids to Disney live @ the Verizon center in Mankato. I ordered the tickets back in June or July so I was able to get front row :)
The kids LOVED IT! We weren't too sure how Brayden would do, but the picture below was pretty much how he looked through out the whole show. Macie really enjoyed it, except for she DID NOT like the witch from Snow White :(

Holiday Parade

Macie & I did the Holiday parade in New Ulm this year the day after Thanksgiving. It was actually nice out (still needed winter coats, but last year it was FREEEEZING). The daycare center had a float in, so we rode along. Brayden & dad hung out at home, dad & I thought Brayden would get bored - maybe next year for him.

Wow I can't believe I didn't even post pictures from Halloween. Sorry these are a little late! The kids had a good time getting candy.... We didn't do the whole house to house thing. We always meet @ grandma & grandpa Hewitt's so the cousin's can all see each other & then everyone is off to do their own thing. We go to babysitter Katie's, a couple other houses & then into Mankato to see grandma & grandpa Evans. This year we made a couple extra stops in Mankato at some of our friends & headed for home.

Our baby girl turned 3 yesterday! I can not believe where the time has went. She is such a good little girl! She is in the preschool room at daycare & thinks it's pretty neat to go on field trips & ride the "big bus". She is still doing dance class & really enjoys that. She is a very good big sister, always helping with Brayden!
We celebrated her birthday already back in September because we rented a bounce house & wanted to do it while it was still warm out. Yesterday we told her she could decide what we did & she wanted to go eat & the place where you throw money in the water (aka - Mexican Village). She was a lucky girl... she got grandma & grandpa Evans and grandma & grandpa Hewitt to join her as well!

Severs Corn Maze & Fall Festival

Ok so I am not a little behind on my blogging, I am a lot behind! I promise I will try & catch up soon! October 1st - 5th daddy went to North Dakota hunting so it was just mommy & the kids. Sunday the kids & I & my niece Taylor joined some friends & went up to Severs Corn Maze in Shakopee. It was a lot of fun, there is so much to do & see....Corn pit, Pig races, Giant slide, Petting zoo, (it even had a Jaguar, Macie was super excited) and 2 jumping pillows.... Next year when Brayden in another year older I think both kids will have a total blast!

Like mother, like daughter.... Macie had her 1st dance class tonight. After going to her cousin Taylor's dance show last spring, Macie kept telling me she wanted to wear a shirt like Taylor. Everytime I asked her dance or gymnastics's, she answered dance. They are not supposed to start dance until 3, but since she is so close her teacher let her try it. She loved it! It helps that her assistant teacher is a daycare teacher & also a babysitter. She is dancing to a Cinderella song & using a fairy wand. I will post as the season goes on.

Brayden 18 Months

Wow I can not believe our baby boy is 18 months! He is still not saying a whole lot; mom, dada, ya & ut-o. Dr. Benson is going to call the school district & suggest he start speech therapy. Of course dad & I are game for anything we can do to help him out. So at this point, we are just waiting for a call for the next step. Otherwise he is a very happy little boy. He LOVES to be outside! He LOVES to be where ever his dad is! He is all boy..... getting dirty, trying to take things apart, trying to fix things, playing trucks, riding the 4-wheeler, everything. He has been in the toddler room at daycare since June & will stay there till he's almost 3. It was a nice transition because he was able to be with Macie all summer long, so it went really smooth. And he ws able to do a lot more activites being in the toddler room vs te infant room. Macie has just moved into the preschool room this week! My babies are growing up. Here are Brayden's 18 month stats:

Labor Day Camping

So we headed back to the campground with the "jumpy thing" (as Macie calls it) over Labor Day (aka the Yogi campground in Autin, MN). Our family got there Friday about 3:00 & enjoyed the weather. Saturday morning we were joined by Grandma Nancy, Grandpa Kurt, Auntie Katie & Cousins; Sam, Tyler & Brielle. We were able to enjoy lunch & then some rain moved in.....it turned out to be A LOT OF RAIN..... A FLOOD! Kent figures we got about EIGHT INCHES & in a VERY short amount of time! Grandpa Kurt went from feet on the ground, to feet on a couple 2 x 4's, to feet on a cooler. It was UNREAL! In one area they had 2 tents go under, a car get way too much water & 2 pop -up campers get too much water. So after they were done with them, they headed over & pumped us out. We still had a great time, but to say the least the kids were WET & DIRTY! The kids were still able to do a lot; a paddle boat ride, riding the mini bike, riding the peddle bikes, jumping on the jumping pillow, several train rides, riding the little bikes, just tons of fun stuff. Auntie Katie & our cousins crashed in the camper with us & stayed till nap time on Sunday. We stayed through the day & night Sunday & headed home Monday. It was a VERY wet, but VERY fun weekend!

Turks & Caicos 2011-Part 1

This past week my parents took our whole family (14 of us) back to Turks & Caicos. Saturday morning our flight left MN around 5:30, therefor up @ 2:00 AM! We got on the plane, settled in for a nap & they announce there's a light on & we all needed to exit the plane. After some waiting we were allowed to load the plane again, BUT not before enough time had passed that we were going to miss our connecting flight in Atlanta. When we arrived in Atlanta we realized, there were no more flights to Turks & Caicos that day. So.... we were off to Miami! 18 hours after waking up we were finally @ our resort. All in all the kids did as good as could be expected. Macie wasn't too sure about the take off at first. She called it "blast off" & said it was scary, but after 3 flights, got used to it.

We enjoyed the beach & pool Sunday & Monday & just being on vacation. Tuesay we headed over to the waterpark, but just hit one part of the park & the lazy river. On our 2nd trip down the lazy river our trip changed real fast, the winds picked up, things were staring to blow around & Hurricane Irene was on her way in. Over the next 2-1/2 days we spent most of our time in the room. The hurricane came in at a category 2 & left as a category 3! They said the winds reached about 115 mps, but our hotel could uphold 200 mph. We were the only place on the island that had power, because our hotel had their own generator. They still had 3 of the 15 resturants open for food, so that was nice. They had 95 employees that were required to stay overnight & usually have 900-950. Some of the employees that came back to work on Thursday had no house to go home to. By Thursday afternoon they had a couple pools back open & the beach cleaned up, so that was nice. We never were able to get into the waterpark though :( just too many trees down & too much to clean up.

We did have a GREAT time though! The kids loved the Sesame Street people that walked around. The both LOVED to swim in the pools & in the beach & LOVED playing in the sand. I have posted a bunch of pcitures....

National Night Out

Last night Nicollet help their 1st National Night out... The kids had a blast!
Dad really wanted to get some things done around the house so grandma Linda came & hung out with us. We had a quick bite to eat and then headed to check things out. Both of the kids LOVED the jump house (Brayden got bounced around a lot, but still loved it).
Drayko was there from the Nicollet Co K9 unit, so we watched him for a little bit. They had some fire trucks, an ambulance and the mayo helicopter there to look at. They also has a roll-over simulator there & the smoke house for kids to go through (but they were both a little over the kids heads, they didn't really understand) and of course we had to go & check out the park. It was a little warm, but a fun night!

This past weekend the kids went and hung out at Grandma Nancy & Grandpa Kurt's for the weekend and dad & I headed over to Madison Lake for Paddle Fish Days! We spent A LOT of time on the lake playing in the water and had a ton of fun! Saturday evening they have a boat parade contest and we won 1st place!!! 40 YEARS

Kurt & Nancy...AKA: Dad & Mom...AKA: Grandpa & Grandma.... Celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this past Sunday (July 17th)!
All of us kids/grand kids joined them for 10:00 mass and then headed over to Whiskey River for brunch.
Church was interesting.... dad took Macie out because she said she had to go potty. As soon as she came back she sat down on my lap and said mommy I have to puke?! We quick snuck out of side door (as we were in the FRONT pew) and just as we got to the bottom of the steps, sure enough, she puked! I'm not sure if it was heat or what because she was fine after and got none on her or mom (way to go Macie). Brunch was great food, but it was so hot!!! The air just couldn't keep up and man it was hot!!! The floor was wet and you had to take baby steps because they was so much humidity in there :(

This past weekend we make a quick trip up to my brother & sister-in-laws cabin in Hutchinson. We headed up after work/daycare on Friday with the camper, played for the day on Saturday & then headed home after supper Saturday night. The kids had a lot of fun, there were lots of other kids up for them to play with. Brayden & Macie both went on the tub, both kids LOVED it! Unfourtanally dad was very under the weather & spent most of the times trying to feel better :(

Kamp Dels

Last year we took my nephews Colton & Trayton to Kamp Dels with us, so this year is was my niece's turn. Kalley, Taylor & our family of 4 headed over to Kamp Dels July 8th, 9th & 10th. We had so much fun!

As soon as we got there Friday we put on our suits & headed to the water park... headed back for a little supper... rented a pony for a half hour (the kids took turns ridin)... off to one of the nice parks they have there... then the little ones headed off to bed & the big kids made s'mores.

Saturday the campground had fresh donuts so we all enjoyed one of those (Macie enjoyed the frosting)... then off to play at one of the parks... back to have an egg bake for brunchjust in time to all crashed for a quick nap... off to the water park again (man did we enjoy that, it was perfect weather)... we enjoyed the slides, tire swing & just being silly until supper... up to one of the other parks & a quick game of golf for us 3 girls... then it was off to the magic show that the campground put on while enjoying some soft serve ice cream as we watched the show... then off to the park again & then back for bed/s'mores.

Sunday we did a quick breakfast & were at the gate when the water park opened! We had great weather, no bugs & just an all around great weekend!!!

4th of July camping

This past weekend we went camping in Eagle Lake @ what we call "Camp Lyle & Louise". We had plans to go to a state park by Lake City, bring my parents jet ski's, my parents were coming along to watch the kids, great plans..... all wrecked because of the shut down! So onto Plan B! Miranda's aunt & uncle have a place in Eagle Lake that we camped at last year on Labor day, so we headed out there. It's a big open area with a fire pit, picnic tables & even mini golf :) It was nice to have somewhere to go, but the bugs were not so nice! Poor Brayden must be really sweet, because they really liked him (he looks like he has the chicken pox). Friday night we got a little bit of rain, but nothing much, the storms all went north of us. We hope everyone had a great 4th!

Daycare 4th of July parade

The daycare center where the kids go does a 4th of July parade. The kids make matching shirts (last year they sponge painted, this year they tie died). The parade starts at school at the walk up to the city park for lunch. The big kids bring their bikes & the little ones ride in wagons/strollers/buggies & they decorate them with streamers & flags.

Friendship Days 2011

This past weekend we celebrated Nicollet's Friendship Day & like always, had a blast! Friday evening my amazing in-laws picked up the kids from daycare & kept them through Sunday. We had a GREAT weekend!!!

This is my 2nd year doing the little Miss Nicollet with Katie and we had a lot of fun again! The Monday & Wednesday before Friendship Days we practice for an hour each night with the girls, teaching them a dance for the talent show on Friday. We danced to Splish Splash.... I am so mad, I wasn't able to get a group picture! Talent ran a little late & some of the girls had to get home. They did a great job though with their "shower caps", swimsuits & towels. So that started off our weekend Friday night....

Saturday morning I did the 5K in honor of my amazing sister-in-law Becky and walked with almost 500 others (my sister-in-law Katie & niece Brielle came over from Janesville to walk with me too).... then it was off to the kiddie parade with my little miss girls. Time for a quick nap & then it was time to watch my niece show that number 60 proud on her demo car & take SECOND PLACE! Then it was off for a quick shower & down to the park to see all of the beautiful little girls for coronation.... and of course ended the evening with some adult beverages.

Sunday dad & I got to SLEEP IN!!!!! A*W*E*S*O*M*E
Then Grandma Nancy & Grandpa Kurt brought the kids over & we all pulled up some grass to catch some candy at the "big parade". After that we had some very tired kids so we headed for home, took some naps & then were actually able to make it back in for some rides before they closed the park down for the weekend.

2011 Relay For Life

Last Friday, June 17th, 8 of us did the Nicollet County Relay For Life. We formed Team Becky's Hope & went "hunting for a cure". With this lovely Minnesota weather the walk got moved inside so that was a huge bummer. We didn't get to light the bags or enjoy the fresh air, but it was still fun. We had a great team!!! Brayden had his 15 month appointment today. His stats were
Height 31.5 (64%) .... Macie was 32.5 (96%)
Weight 24.2 (46%) .... Macie was 24.8 (79%)
Head 19" (80%) .... Macie was 19" (97%)

Benson said as far as health wise he looks great! He asked if Brayden was saying much & he is not! I have been researching a lot on the computer (which everyone tells you not too) so we did bring up some of our concerns. At this point he said we will just watch him and see. It maybe in part because we are comparing boy to girl an... it also maybe he can't talk, cause his sister doesn't stop talking (wonder where she gets that from)!?!?

I looked back and at 15 months Macie was saying; Daddy, Momma, Sock, Milk, Juice, Night Night, Blanket, Bye Bye, Baby, Maggie and some family/friends/teachers names. At this point Brayden only says dada and Ut oh. I am really trying not to read into it and just see how it all plays out.

He is a VERY busy boy! Always has to check everything out! Pulls our vents out of our floor, opens doors, LOVES to play in the toliet, trys to climb into my wash machine, just keeps us on our toes NON-STOP!

He is such a happy boy :) very laid back, very calm, just goes with the flow (like his dad). He started today in the toddler room full time! I can't believe we will never be in the baby room again at daycare.... weird!?

This past weekend the 4 of us went to the Yogi Bear/Jelly stone campground in Austin... The kids loved it! They had a country theme this weekend & there is so much to do... A big jumping pillow, paddle boat rides, 3 different playgrounds, a dance Saturday night, train rides for the kids, hayrides, a petting zoo... I'm sure I'm missing something? It was a little cold so we weren't able to swim, but we still had a lot of fun! Oh and Yogi Bear, Boo Boo & the ranger walk around the campground but Macie wanted NOTHING to do with any of them!

Over Memoiral Day Weekend we had our 1st camping trip of the season. We went to Myre Big Island state campground by Albert Lea. We had a lot of fun, the weather actually was very good. Here are a few fun pictures -

Yesterday I had the honor & privalage of doing the mother/daughter dance with my niece Taylor & we had so much fun! We have had practice the past 5 weeks or so for 45 minutes once a week. I know Becky was watching us and smiling. Taylor did a great job and I know Becky was very proud of her!! Right before we walked out on the floor, I grabbed Taylor's hand and said "this ones for mom" not the best idea! As soon as those words came out I could feel my eyes start to fill up with tears because it was such a bittersweet moment - I was so excited to dance with Taylor, but wish Becky was there as well. We did make sure that Becky was dancing with us... we both had a picture of Becky & Taylor tied to our lei's, so she was there with us the whole time & we also put a little heart on Taylor's trike with "mom" on it.

Macie thought it was pretty funny watching mom out there dancing. She really wants to dance! Molly said she would let her start next year, we'll see if she's ready for it come September!?

Last night Kent & I went to the 1st annual RAW Fusion @ the Verizon Center in Mankato. IT WAS AWESOME! It was a "fashion show" where different businesses sponsored models & their models wore their product, it was so neat! Our friend Jamie put a ton of work into it & it was a great show! Our friend Tony was one of the models & was sponsored by Schmidt's Siding & Windows (pictures below).... some of the other models (I will try & add pitures of them) realitor; a gal with keys sewn on her dress & shoes... construction company; a guy that made a tux out of Tyvex and another one made a dress out of blue prints... the Free Press a wedding dress made from newspaper... Kato cable; a skirt made of cable... Cambria; the bottom of the dress was Cambria countertop... Earl Johnson Furniture; a skirt that was actually a table.... Town & Country interor's; a dress made out of wall paper samples... There was 20 total, but this is some of them & as you can tell it was AWESOME!

Easter

I was a terriable mom & forgot to take ANY pictures Easter morning :( Macie let us sleep in & forgot the Easter Bunny was coming, but once she saw her basket, she was super excited. We found Easter Eggs, played with our new toys & headed down to my grandma's in Blue Earth for lunch. We have a very nice lunch with my mom's sister, her family, my brothers & their families & of course my grandma. Once our rug rats started to get tired we jumped in the car & let them nap as we drove back to Mankato. We then meet up with Kent's family at the Olive Garden for a "no one cooks" Easter & it was yummy! I have posted a couple of pictures of dad & the rest of the Evans family as well as the Evans grandkids!

Brayden Surgery

Brayden had his surgery this morning and Dr. Christensen said it went good. He said he did have some gel/tar like "stuff" in his ear that he also removed, but said everything went well. We had to check in @ 6:45, he was on his way back for surgery about 7:45/7:50 & we were on our way home right around 9:00. We got home a little after 9:00 and he took a 3 hour nap! He had a great rest of the day, took a quick nap in the afternoon & was down for bed by 7:15! I love these pictures...

Mr. Brayden ... he is getting tubes! We went to our ENT appointment a couple weeks ago and that doctor aggreed that he needed tubes. So Brayden and I went in last Wednesday for a pre-op and we are set to get tubes in this Wednesday! Everyone tells me it is harder on mom than it is on them!? He is walking more & more everyday, I think by the end of the month crawling will be a thing of the past! He is such a happy boy & man does he love food! He is such a good eater, could out eat his sister any day :)

Miss Macie... she is doing so good on potty training! We started her two weekend ago now. That Friday we got home from daycare and we went cold turkey, no more diapers (everyone told me to) before bed, ONLY 3 HOURS LATER, we had wet through 3 TIMES!!! Ok maybe she wasn't ready, but we has really satrted to get the hang of it. She is still waking up some mornings & after nap wet so we are doing pull-ups then , but otherwise she is doing great. We have to work on the pooping a little more, but I would say it's 60/40 for the good, so we are getting there. YAAAA :)

Portia Marie & Shelby Ann

My cousin Tiffany had twin girls last Monday - Portia Marie & Shelby Ann! Tiff was having some issues with her blood pressue and was only 33 weeks along so the girls were born up at the U of M. Shelby was 4# & 17 inches, Portia was 3# 10 ounces & 14 1/2 inches. Mom & I were able to go up yesterday and meet them.. man are they small! Portia was soaking up some rays under the light due to being a little jaundice, but we were able to hold Shelby. Mom & girls are doing great! As of this afternoon Shelby had no more IV & was eating 33 ml and Portia also had no more IV, was done with her tan & was eating 28 ml! I am excited for them to come home so I can go and see them again and introduce them to their cousins!

Daddy's Birthday was this past Wednesday (the 23rd)! It was so sweet as soon as Macie woke up she walked into the bedroom & wished daddy a Happy Birthday. The kids helped him open his birthday present... it was a small version of a theater popcorn maker (he wants to build a bar downstairs & put that in there). I took Brayden to his pre-op appointment, so dad picked up Macie & meet us @ Mexican Village.... only to find out that my family & his family (minus a couple) were there to help him celebrate!

Macie & I have been going to ECFE most of this year & Macie loves it. She calls it her "other school". Her favorite things is they have a table that each week has something different in it; rice, noodles, beans, ect... She also likes that each week she gets to check out a different toy & bring it home for a week :)

Vegas Baby

So this post is a little late, but better late than never right? At the beginning of March - Kent & I went out to Las Vegas with my brother Troy, Sister-in-law Cindy & some friends George & Jody. We had so much fun! We left on a Friday morning, checked into out hotel, walked around Vegas for a while & then went to a show. Saturday the other 4 went out to the National race for Nascar & we enjoyed a mommy & daddy day :) after they got back we went down to Fremont street for another show! Sunday we went to the big Nascar race with Troy & Cindy - it was beautiful weather! Not too hot, Not too cold, just perfect! We rode out to the race on a "short bus" with Cindy's sister & 11 of her friends. After the race we hung out downtown (where they were staying) with all of them & had so much fun. I rode the zip line down Fremont street - IT WAS AWESOME! Monday we did some more walking & then another show & home to see the kids on Tuesday :) We had so much fun, but it was great to get home, we missed the kids! The kids stayed between the grandma's & grandpa's.... Thanks guys!

Brayden Michael

This past Friday was Brayden's 1st birthday! Where did the year go?!? He is getting so big!!! He wants to walk, but isn't there just yet!? He walks (runs) behind all of his push toys or anything & everything he can push (chairs, highchair). He is no longer on a bottle and is loving the tippy cup with "real milk". He is also no longer in the highchair, at home he is in a booster at the table and at daycare he sits at the little table. He is also starting to sleep on a cot at daycare (he will move into the preschool room with Macie in June). His favorite word is dada, but sometimes we get a mama :)
We had him in the emergency room this past Saturday with a ear infection in the right ear and ruptured ear drum in the left :(
We went in for his 1 year check up with our regular doctor today and we are off to the ENT (Ear/Nose/Throat) doctor tomorrow. Dr. Benson says he needs tubes! Otherwise he is doing great!

New Beds

Wow-I can not believe it, we are going to celebrate Brayden's FIRST birthday this weekend! Where in the world did the last year go? He is totally on the move with crawling & can walk behind toys like no other... but doesn't have the walking thing down just yet. He is starting on table food & milk & is LOVING every minute of it. I will try & post a better update with pictures of the kids soon! But for now I thought I would post these.

About 4 months ago a friend of mine stopped down at work & said her girls out grew their bed & really thought Macie should have it. So after twisting daddy's arm, we put her trundle bed away for a little bit & picked up the new bed for Macie. I will try & get an actual picture of her room soon!

The other picture below is the bed that daddy is going to MAKE for Brayden! If you know my husband at all, he loves to wood work! I know this is going to turn out awesome! I will make sure & post pictures when it is done. We are going to do his big boy room in the Construction theme!

Today my family got their own special angel! After a 6 year battle with breast cancer we lost an aunt & sister-in-law! We are going to miss Becky so much!!!

I'm sorry for the last of updates... it's that time a year & everyone in our house is sick :(

The start of the week was kind of rough.... Brayden spent Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday home snuggling with Katie! We are putting in a new computer system @ work so Kent & I have trainings (thank goodness for Katie). It has to get better right? By the end of the week & 2 kids on antibiotics we had the kids Christmas program at daycare Friday & then Christmas with my mom's family on Sunday,

Dad & I have been able to enjoy all this snow & get out & go snowmobiling a couple times already, but MAN AM I OLD!!! I am finding muscles I haven't used for a long time, but have really enjoyed riding!

Our school does a carnival each year to raise money for the elementary. Macie had a blast! As you can see below they had a big blow up & Macie spent about 90% of her time in there. Grandma Linda was there so she took on Brayden duty because daddy had to keep getting in the bouncy to help her up the back side of the slide (it was like climbing rocks) & then I was on the other side. I can't wait till next year when both kids can play!

We are all doing great! Macie is still loving daycare "school". She is coming home all the time surprising us with stuff she learns. She loves to sing.... I love to sit here after I put her to bed & listen to her in her room just singing away. We are still doing gymnastics & soon will be starting ECFE classes. She is always busy doing something!

Last Wednesday Brayden got his 1st tooth! It seems like it has been wanting to come in forever! Dad took him to his helmet check this past Tuesday & as long as he continues to grow we should have it off as of his next appointment in two weeks.

Last Monday we started Macie in gymnastics class at MAGS in Mankato. She seems to really enjoy it. This is really different for me.... if you know me I was in dance from 3 till my senior year of high school, followed by coaching our high school dance team & teaching Just For Kix dance classes - never had anything to do with gymnastics Doing stretches at the beginning of class

Brayden update

Brayden is doing great with his helmet as you can see in the pictures in the post below. I don't think he remembers what it's like to not have it on. He'll sleep through the night like 4 out of 7 nights - so we're getting there. We are still doing PT once a week & helmet check every 2 weeks.

He had his 6 month appt. last week & he is doing great. Him & Macie are very close to where she was at 6 months. He is still a very happy boy!

I just thought I would post a quick update & let you know how everything went yesterday with Brayden & his helmet. From the picture above you can tell he now has his helmet. That part was actually really easy. When we went up there with him a couple weeks ago he was so tired that when they took the scan of his head he didn't move - so they got a GREAT scan. They put it on him, had to cut away a little for extra room around his neck, ears & forehead... came back in about 5 minutes later & "strapped it on". Corey (the helmet guy) went through everything with us, what we need to do with him & then took it off, checked for "red spots" made 1 small adjustment & we were done. This appointment usually takes about an hour & a half... therefore we had to wait for our 4:30 PT appointment.

They did not want us to have him wear it home, so by the time we got home he only wore it yesterday for like a total of an hour. I have talked to daycare a couple of times so far today & they said he is doing great! Today helmet ON 1-1/2 hrs, OFF 1/2 hr & NO helmet to bed.... tomorrow ON 2 hrs, OFF 1/2 hr & 1st night wearing it to bed... Thursday ON 2-3 hrs, OFF 1/2 hr & still on at night... Friday starts 23/7 of wearing it!

Corey (the helmet guy) comes to Mankato once a month to do helmet checks so we are very excited about that! That means only 1 trip a month to the cities! We are suppose to be going up there every two weeks (after a check up next week) to do a helmet check & PT... since we only have to go up there once a month now for helmet checks we are switching & doing his PT through a place in Mankato from now on. We are also seeing a chiropractor in Mankato as well (a friend told me it helped her nephew) so we were game for anything that might help him. I feel like that's all we do is dr for Brayden - oh well it will be done & over before we know it.
