This past weekend we celebrated Friendship Days in Nicollet! It was a VERY interesting weekend! Friday Grandma & Grandpa Evans came over to pick up the kids for the weekend. We were going to take Macie down to ride a few rides & then they would head for Kato - well things didn't really go as planned?! Things started looking really green so into the basement we went - soon after we lost power & then the winds started to pick up BIG TIME! The 6 of us went & sat in the kids' toy room & waited for everything to pass. We are VERY lucky - we lost a small shed, a bunch of trees & some other stuff was damaged - but it could have been so much worse! In town a lot of people have broken windows, damage to their house & cars - they had baseball sized hail. After it was all clear the kids left with Grandma & Grandpa & Daddy & I took a drive to go check out damage & then went into Grandma & Grandpa's to get the genirator. Saturday was a new day - we got up & went on the "Nicollet's Hope" walk 4 breast cancer - it was great, about 500 people! After that we went to the kiddie parade & then it was off to the demo. My niece Kalley was in it & did great - she got 5th! Headed for home to shower & then into town for all the Miss Nicollet stuff. My girlfriend Katie & I did the "Little Miss Nicollet" this year - it was a lot of fun! We have 17 girls! We were suppose to have the talent part on Friday but with the weather that didn't happen - so everything went on Saturday night. The girls did their dance to Surfin USA & then changed into their dresses for the coranation. As we were winding down with all of that they said the storms were coming right at us again - but lucklie we were missed. So we headed down with some friends for some adult beverages. Sunday was the big parade! Macie & I walked through with daycare - daddy & Brayden just watched with the grandma's & grandpa's :)
We went downtown after the parade & Macie went on some rides with her friend Julia (Julia didn't really like them - that's why she is missing from some pictures). She took a quick nap & was ready for bed again by 7:45. Brayden also did great - he has slept through the night the past TWO nights - Yaaaa!
A HUGE thank you to Grandma & Grandpa Evans for EVERYTHING you did for us this weekend - THANK YOU!!!
