Cervix thinning

Well I am back from the doctor and I am not dilated, but he said my cervix is thinning. He said everything is looking good, heartbeat was 149. Sitting there today waiting for the doctor to come in I had so many thoughts going through my head - terrified, excited, overwhelmed! I kept thinking oh my goodness what if he says I’m dilated?! But right now we continue to wait... Duck opener is this weekend so now daddy can go and hunt and be pretty comfortable that he won’t be getting “the phone call”. We go back to the doctor next Tuesday so I will post again after that.

Doing good

We are another week closer to the arrival of baby Evans and had another week for him/her to grow stronger. I washed all of the clothes and blankets this weekend, it was so much fun! I have a pile of girl clothes and a pile of boy clothes sitting on the changing table... just waiting to see which ones we will need to use and which ones we will be putting away. I also have my bag packed and sitting in the baby room, so I think we are pretty much set to go :)

Off bed rest - Yaaaa!

I am writing this entry from my desk at work – YA! I went in, he checked the heartbeat (which I forgot to ask what it was) and said making it to 34 was HUGE! He said I can be off bed rest and he will see me in two weeks. So I guess that’s good that I am off bed rest, but I’m not sure why he didn’t check anything else. I know I should have asked - I was just so excited when he told me I could go back to work, that I lost my whole train of thought. So hopefully we have a very boring next two weeks and I will update again on the 30th.
Daddy and I plan to stay close to home and not push anything to much, we want to keep the little one in there as long as possible. Therefore we want to say good luck to our sister in law Becky this weekend. She is doing the 3 day walk for Breast Cancer. Friends and family are going up to listen to her speak on Saturday and to have some “cheer stations” for her, but we obviously don’t want to be that far away from home.

Good luck “auntie” Becky all 3 of us will be thinking of you!

Ultrasound Pictures

Below is the ultrasound pictures - it was a lot of fun to due and see our little bundle of joy. In the top picture you can see Baby Evans is smiling and the bottom picture has all of the features marked out. We mostly looked at the face (the baby just would not put his/her's arm down though) . We did see a foot, but didn't want to chance seeing any other "parts" so just stuck with the head (we saw a yawn too). Thanks again Dan, Bec & girls - this was really neat!

I have my doctors appt. on Tuesday so hopefully he will tell me I can be off best rest and go back to work (never thought I'd want to go back to work). I will post on Tuesday & let you know how my appointment goes.

Saturday was also my baby shower - thank you to my sister in laws (Becky, Cindy & Katie), my cousin Katie & my aunt Deb for everything! We got so many wonderful gifts, as soon as I am off bedrest I will be washing clothes and getting things put away. Right now everything is laying in the middle of our living room, but I love it! It's so much fun to look at all the little clothes that I can't wait to put on him/her after giving them a bath with all the new bath stuff, all the soft blankets I can't wait to snuggle him/her up in or the toys and movies I can't wait to watch him/her smile or laugh with. As you can tell I am getting very excited! Last week a couple different times I just went and sat in the chair in the baby room. And one night Kent and I just sat and watched my tummy - the baby has just been moving like crazy!

Doing good

We are both still doing well and have not had any pain. Mommy is so sick of sitting/laying around the house though. We are still going to do the 3D ultrasound pictures this Saturday, and I will get them on here afterwards. So now it's just a matter of waiting to go to the dr on Tuesday and hope that he gives me the ok to be off bedrest. And hope that baby Evans stays in a little while longer. Although we are both getting very excited! Thank you to all of our family and friends for checking up on us! Have a good rest of the week and a good weekend!

Feeling good

Just thought I would drop a quick update - mommy and baby are doing great! I have not had any pain since Tuesday night. A little sore here and there but I think that's just due to having to lay down all the time, although I did get the ok to spend some time in the recliner when my hips hurt. Thank you to everyone for checking on me and baby. I will keep you posted, but as of now we are both doing great. We will be 33 weeks tomorrow so just one more week closer to being out of a danger zone. Daddy is taking very good care of us :) Have a great weekend!

*Thanks grandma Linda for the meals (hope daddy doesn't get used to home cooked meals now)

Baby Evans ready to come......

Well I went for my dr. appt. yesterday. The dr. took my measurments and checked the heartbeat (150). I thought I might have a bladder infection? I had been in some pain over the weekend, so he sent me down to lab. In the waiting room I started to feel like I was going to pass out, so they had me lay down for a bit. Dr. Gildner decided he didn't really want me to go home and instead sent me over to ISJ to have them watch me for a little bit. I though "oh a half hour and I should be on my way home". Little did I know!!! They hooked me up to watch the baby's heartbeat & see if I was having contractions & sure enough.... I was having contractions! I stayed the night last night (daddy spent the night on a really comfy chair-ha ha). They ran 5 bags of fluids and 2 bags of antibiotics through me. After 6 prikes to try & get the IV in me and if you know me I DO NOT do well with needles or pain. They did an ultrasound yesterday and again today to make sure nothing had changed. Long story short they don't know why I am having contractions? They sent me home today on strick bedrest - to the bathroom, one shower & 15 minutes for meals. Otherwise I am to lay on the right side or left and lay down all day long. I have bedrest until my next dr, appt. on the 16th - my poor husband :(
We are just going to hope that little Evans stays in as long as possible. He/she only weighs 5 pounds right now. Thanks to grandma Linda for driving me to the dr. and hanging out with me till daddy could get there and thanks Katie for coming to visit! Love from the Evans
