No autographs please :)

Maybe I should say no hand prints since she's too young for autographs :)
Our family was interviewed in the January issue of Mankato Magazine, so we thought we would share it with all of you.

2 Month Check-Up

Macie had her two week check up yesterday and everything looked great! She had to have three shots.... she was a VERY sad girl! Her height is 23 3/4 (93%) and her weight is 13.8 (99%).

We also went to visit daycare - we went to see the room she will be in, meet one of her teachers and drop off all her stuff (diapers, bottles, extra clothes, ect). Pretty sure my eyes started to tear up... it's a given MONDAY IS GOING TO STINK! Mommy is NOT ready to drop her off at daycare! She is going out at our school center "baby raiders", my niece Taylor goes there and she told me she would watch over Macie for me - even though she is two rooms away :). But that was very sweet of her to offer to be the big cousin.

We hope 2009 is wonderful for everyone! We are pretty sure there is no way 2009 could possibly top our 2008... we became husband and wife... we moved into our beautiful home... and last but of course not least, had our amazing little girl - Macie Leigh! Wishes of a great 2009 from the Evans family!!!

Macie's 1st Christmas cont..

We had two great days of Christmas!
Christmas Eve we were at Grandma & Grandpa Hewitt's - we had a great lunch and afternoon with everyone....then we were off to church in our little red dress :).... a very good day!
Christmas Day we were off to Grandma & Grandpa Evans - we spent the after noon with Grandma Nancy's family and that evening with immediate family. ...again great food & a very good day!

Macie gave mom & dad a great Christmas gift.....SLEEP :)
Christmas Eve she slept over NINE hours!!! Then the next two night she went to bed at 11 & 10... slept till 5:30, went right back to bed and slept till 8:30! Maybe she is getting into a schedule? I hope so because we only have one more week at home and then mommy is back to work and Macie goes to daycare :( I am starting to get nervous... but I know she will be just fine (daddy keeps reminding me)!

Last night mom and dad went on their 1st date since Ms. Macie came into our life. We went and saw the movie Marley & Me, it was a very good movie! Macie stayed home with Katie... believe it or not I only called once (OK I text once too :)) but we know she was very well taken care of.

**After the 2nd day of Christmas....Such a tired girl

1st Christmas

We had our first Christmas today with my mom's side, it was a blast! With the weather being so yucky my grandma, aunt & three of my cousin's came to town yesterday and stayed at my mom's. Macie and I went in and hung out and played games (Macie was on grandma's team for cards) - Katie and I won Cranium!!!

Today the rest of the family came and we had a very nice day! Macie of course got tons of attention and very nice gifts (daddy and mommy did too). We do gage gifts and daddy got a really nice pink Barbie fishing pole and net... Macie will really like that once she is old enough to go fishing with her daddy (thanks Jeff).

We go to Grandma and Grandpa Hewitt's on Christmas Eve and then we go to Grandma and Grandpa Evans Christmas Day. I will make sure and post more pictures, her Christmas dress is so cute :)

Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

1st Babysitters

We are all still doing great... excited for Macie's first Christmas - we start our celebrations this coming weekend!

Mom had her 6 week check up on Friday and Macie had her 1st "non-family" babysitter(s). Thanks Kristin and Kelsey!!! It's hard to think that I used to babysit these young ladies and now they are freshmen in college and babysitting my daughter - wow!

I can't believe how much Macie is changing - five weeks goes by fast! She is starting to smile more and more, I think she is starting to see farther away... oh and she is starting to make more noises too! I thought I would post this picture of her......SHE'S SO CUTE :)

Misc...

Well I am done Christmas shopping except for two gift certificates I have to pick up - ya! My cousin Katie and I went up to St. Cloud on Monday and I got so much done! Almost everything is wrapped and under the tree...usually I am done Christmas shopping by like the beginning of November, so this is really late for me. We had a really good time - we went to a great store up there called "crafts direct", went to eat at Bonanza (I love that place) and then shopped till we dropped. Well this mom must have shopped a little too much, went to the doctor today and I have a sinus infection - uggg

Thought I would post this picture of Ms. Macie sleeping I thought it was so cute... She loves to sleep with her arms up, how weird?!

Macie's 1st Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving, I know we did. We went to my cousin Jeff's and his fiance Vanessa's here in Nicollet, it was nice that we didn't have to go very far. It was a very relaxing day and of course Macie was spolied. She woke up that morning at 4:00 am and slept very little through out that day, but that night slept 8 hours :)... although it hasn't happend again since then...

Last night Macie went to her first hockey game to watch her cousin/godmother Kalley. Kalley did awesome!!! They won like 14-1 (they stopped keeping score after 9) and she scored 3 goals!

Just a couple cute pictures I thought I would post below - Our 1st Thanksgiving outfit and Macie all snuggled in her blanket with her daddy! She is really starting to change - she is smiling more, starting to talk/make noises.

Macie's Baptism

Macie, Mom & Dad Macie & her godparents; Andy (Kent's brother-in-law), Kalley (Sara's niece) & Katie (Kent's sister) Macie & her Grandma & Grandpa Hewitt Macie & her Grandma & Grandpa Evans Sorry I have not updated a lot, Macie keeps us very busy. We are all doing very well...I can't believe she's almost a month old already. We had baptism today, she was a great girl all day! After baptism we all came back to our place for a lot of great food - thank you to everyone who brought food and helped out in the kitchen. Last night she slept 6 hours at one stretch, but I'm not going to hold my breath for that to happen very often. She seems to be doing good with formula, so cross your fingers things continue to go well. Happy Thanksgiving to all from the Evans family - Kent, Sara & Macie

Busy Morning

Well we have had a very busy morning so far, Macie had her two week check up and all went well. We are still working on the "gas issue", I think we are going to maybe try formula and see if that changes things. Otherwise she is doing great - she is 21-1/4" long (96%) and she weights 10.0 pounds (99%). After that we were off to mommy's appointment and the doc said everything looked great.

We also got a really cool phone call last week from "Mankato Magazine" and they came out and interviewed us this morning. Their January issue is on "new beginnings" and Macie is going to be on the cover. They came and took some pictures of Macie and our family (moms going to look hot in the pictures, because she thought they were only taking pictures of Macie) and interviewed dad and mom.

On our own

After a great weekend Macie and I are on our own today. Daddy was off last week to spend the week at home with his girls, but it's back to the real world today. So far, so good. I think we finally figured out her little "fussy spells" so that's great.
We had a great weekend! Grandma Linda came down on Friday night and Macie had her first babysitter. Dad & I ran to town to get some much needed clothes for dad. Then grandma spent the night so daddy could try and catch up on his sleep before going back to work and to help mommy out. I still had to get up to pump, but it helped tons - THANK YOU SO MUCH GRANDMA!
Saturday Kent's aunt & uncle were up from Windom and his cousin's were home from Arizona with their little boy, so we all hung out at Grandma & Grandpa Evans for the day. It was just a low key, kick back day, but so good to see everyone.
Yesterday we just hung out at home and had some bonding time- Jamie & Katie came to visit us (thanks guys).
We are all doing great! She is starting to be awake more and more during the day so that's a lot of fun. Hope everyone has a great week!

Family update

Since she was our honeymoon baby :)

Sorry for the lack of updates, but we are trying to adjust to everything our new life is throwing at us. We are all doing great and it's really good to be home. Wow I can't believe Macie is over a week old already! I think we are starting to get on a schedule now but it took a little while to get things figured out (thanks auntie/nurse Katie for all the help). We have of course had some long nights - that seems to be her fussy time, but we're working on it. I never knew having a little one would be this awesome! Dad and I spend a lot of time just watching her sleep and all of the different facial expressions she makes. I will try and update again soon. Just wanted to let everyone know we are doing real good. Hope you enjoy the pictures from our photo shoot.

Macie's 1st Halloween

Lil Pun'kin
Mom already has me in dance clothes - my feet look like I have ballet shoes on :)
4 Generations We are all doing really good! The plan is for us to go home tomorrow morning, so we are excited to sleep in our own bed. Macie is doing wonderful - she has been taking to the feedings great! Thank you to EVERYONE who came to visit! I know when some of you came there were a lot of people here at times, but please feel free to stop down and visit anytime. Macie is a very lucky little girl to be loved by so many people. I have posted some more pictures but I have a feeling I am going to be one of those mom's that always has her camera in her hand. Happy Halloween to everyone from Kent, Sara and Macie!!!

Macie Leigh Evans is finally here!

Macie Leigh Evans made her big arrival finally this morning @ 3:14 am. She was 9 pounds, 8 ounces & 21 inches long. It was a VERY long day but all three of us are doing great! I finally reached a 10 at about midnight and they had me start to push. I pushed for about an hour and started to get a really bad pain in my lower stomach. She told me I had at least an hour of pushing left, and I didn't think I had it in me with the pain. We called Dr. Gildner and he said I had already had a long enough day and we should get that baby out - of course I was all about that. We had people running all around in our room and before I knew I could not feel my lower half and I was on my way down the hall to surgury. The surgury itself went well, but after seeing how big our little princess was Gildner said I would have never been able to have her on my own. Not only was she big, she had the cord wrapped around her twice and was "sunny side up". All we were waiting for was those three words - IT'S A ??? Daddy and I were both very excited to finally meet her. As we get more pictures I will post them - thank you to everyone for thinking of us!

Still here

We're still here! She started to feel the contractions not long after the pitocin was going and they had broke her water. They weren't painful until about 1 p.m. and then she started to feel some pain. At that time decided it was time for nubain. The nubain basically kicked in just in time that she didn't feel the needle go in her back for the epidural! And all is good now! At the time of the epidural she was at an almost 4 and more than 90% effaced. So we just hang out and wait!

We're here

Well we made it to the hospital and they even got the I.V. in the first time with no passing out!! They have started the pitocin and will break her water when the doctor gets up here.

Baby Evans coming soon

Well I am still at a two and the doctor decided it was time to get things started, so..... I am getting induced tomorrow! Hopefully at this time tomorrow we are mommy and daddy - I know we have a lot of others waiting for this little miracle too. We will make phone calls and/or send out text messages after our precious one is here. If you don't hear from us, it's just because the little one is taking his/her time coming out. But we promise as soon as our son or daughter is out we will let you all know. We will be VERY excited to share our news. Thank you to everyone for checking on us and thinking of us. The soon to be proud mommy and daddy!!!

Overdue!

We are now oficially OVERDUE! We made it through the wedding and had a blast! Mandy looked beautiful (Kyle looked good too) and the day was a lot of fun. I danced as much as I could, but still no baby. That's ok - we still had a ton of fun! So I guess it is off to that dr. appointment tomorrow that my dr. didn't think he would see me at. I will update again after my appt. Try and stay warm with this wind and snow -yuck!

No change

I know a lot of people are wondering, so I thought I would post a quick update. There has been no change... no pain, no contractions, still feeling great! Baby and I had a talk this morning on the way to work and I told him/her that now he/she should just wait until Sunday to make the big appearance. Then we don't have to worry about still being in the hospital for the wedding, going into labor during the wedding or where daddy's at when the time comes. So we are going to plan on going to the wedding with baby Evans still in hidding. Have a good rest of the week and I will update the blog if anything shall change.

Dr. Appt. Changed

No baby over the weekend! I did get a phone call this morning saying Dr. Gildner had to be out of the office tomorrow and they asked if I could come in this morning at 9:30 instead? Of course, I was all about it! Heartbeat was 148 and I am still at a two, but he thinks I am going to go this week. He said my cervix is thinning a lot and he was pushing on the head :) - ya! I will keep the blog updated as things change. He did have me set up an appointment for next Monday, but he said it was just a "back up plan" and he would be very surprised if he saw me.
Have a good week from the Evans family!

Great idea

So last night I got this great idea in my head that daddy and I should go for a 4 wheeler ride. It started out that we were just going to take a ride to my brother & sister-in-laws (which is at the top of our hill). My brother Troy was in the field over at his in-laws and needed supper so I volunteered us to bring it over to him on the 4 wheeler. We took some ditches, some fields, but nothing. Had to post the picture- it was pretty funny!

Still nothing

Just an update... the "stretching" did nothing. I NEVER thought I would be sad not to be in pain?! We went on a family walk (Kent, Maggie and I) up the Judson hill Tuesday night and last night grandma Linda and I walked on the walking track out at our school for about 45 minutes. If you know me at all, I am NOT good at being patient! I said to Kent last night, I have waited 270 days, isn't that long enough? I think I would be a little better at letting nature take it's course if I knew I would not go next weekend, even if it ment going over. Kent is a groomsmen is our friends (Kyle & Mandy's) wedding, and I just fear that I will go Friday night or Saturday sometime. So if you have any good tips for me drop them my way - ask my husband, I am trying several different things; walking, sitting on the exercise ball, walking up & down the steps, eating pineapple - and my husband just sits in the recliner and laughs at me :)

Still at a two :(

No change, we are still only at a 2! He did stretch my membranes in hopes to get some contractions started, so we’ll see?! I have heard from other people that have had this done though and it didn’t make a difference for them. He said he is on call on Friday and hopes to see me then, but who knows? I have another appointment scheduled for next Tuesday (not until 5:15 though-bummer). I will post again after that, unless something happens between now and then. Otherwise... up the hills I will walk and try and be patient!

*Heartbeat was 149 again

Dilated to a TWO

Walking shoes here I come! I am dilated to a 2 YAAAAA :) and the heartbeat was 150. Everything looks good and back again I go next Tuesday. If anything changes throughout the week I will post, but otherwise I will post again next week after the appointment.

Daddy's Ducks

Daddy went hunting and didn’t get “the phone call”. They got like 42 ducks and 2 geese, so had a good weekend. We laughed last night as Kent was going on like 6 hours of sleep from the whole weekend that I would go into labor because he was so tired - but no baby last night. I go into the doctor again tomorrow, so I will update again after that. When I was there last week he told me I “didn’t have any room left” so we’ll see what he says tomorrow. I am still feeling great so if he says see you next week, well then I guess that is what we will do

Cervix thinning

Well I am back from the doctor and I am not dilated, but he said my cervix is thinning. He said everything is looking good, heartbeat was 149. Sitting there today waiting for the doctor to come in I had so many thoughts going through my head - terrified, excited, overwhelmed! I kept thinking oh my goodness what if he says I’m dilated?! But right now we continue to wait... Duck opener is this weekend so now daddy can go and hunt and be pretty comfortable that he won’t be getting “the phone call”. We go back to the doctor next Tuesday so I will post again after that.

Doing good

We are another week closer to the arrival of baby Evans and had another week for him/her to grow stronger. I washed all of the clothes and blankets this weekend, it was so much fun! I have a pile of girl clothes and a pile of boy clothes sitting on the changing table... just waiting to see which ones we will need to use and which ones we will be putting away. I also have my bag packed and sitting in the baby room, so I think we are pretty much set to go :)
